This Acceptable Use Policy sets out how TaifaConnect may and may not be
used. It applies to everyone who accesses the platform. Please read it
together with our Terms & Conditions and
Privacy Policy.
1. Purpose
TaifaConnect exists for one purpose: to help reunite lost identity
documents with their rightful owners. This policy protects users, the
public, and the integrity of the platform by setting clear rules of
conduct. By using TaifaConnect, you agree to use it only for its
intended, lawful purpose.
2. Acceptable Use
You may use TaifaConnect to:
Report a personal identity document you have genuinely lost.
Report an identity document you have genuinely found, so it can be returned to its owner.
Search or verify the status of a document where you have a legitimate reason to do so.
Arrange the safe return or collection of a document.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use TaifaConnect to:
Submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or fake reports.
Impersonate another person or claim a document that is not yours and that you are not authorised to collect.
Harvest, scrape, collect, or store other people's personal information from the platform.
Attempt to obtain, buy, sell, or trade identity documents unlawfully.
Harass, threaten, intimidate, defraud, or deceive any other person.
Use the contact details of an owner or finder for any purpose other than the safe return of a document.
Send spam, marketing, or unsolicited messages to other users.
4. Technical Misuse
You must not:
Use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated means to access or abuse the service.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server, database, or part of the system.
Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform without authorisation.
Introduce malware, viruses, or any harmful or disruptive code.
Interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the platform's normal operation.
Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or access-control features.
5. Payment Integrity
Where a service fee applies, you must use only legitimate payment
methods that belong to you or that you are authorised to use. Attempting
to defraud the payment system, reverse legitimate charges in bad faith,
or pay using unauthorised means is strictly prohibited.
6. Respect for Personal Data
Because TaifaConnect handles sensitive identity information, you must
treat any personal data you encounter with care. Contact details shared
with you to facilitate a document's return must be used only for that
purpose and must not be stored, shared, or reused for anything else.
7. Consequences of Misuse
If you breach this policy, TaifaConnect may, at its discretion and without notice:
Restrict, suspend, or permanently block your access to the platform.
Remove or withhold reports or content associated with the misuse.
Retain relevant records as evidence.
Refer the matter to the relevant law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.
Misuse of identity documents or another person's personal data
may constitute a criminal offence under the laws of Kenya, including the
Data Protection Act, 2019, and may be reported to the authorities.
8. Reporting Misuse
If you become aware of any misuse of TaifaConnect — a fraudulent report,
an attempt to wrongly claim a document, or a security concern — please
report it to us using the contact details below so we can act on it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. The
"Last Updated" date above shows when it was last changed. Continued use
of TaifaConnect after changes are published constitutes acceptance of
